WHY ARE WE DIFFERENT?
There are a lot of Pilates training courses out there! So, what makes us different?
Many of these courses are run by traditional pilates studios, running traditional pilates mat courses and marketing them to the fitness industry. These courses are great if you want to work in a traditional pilates studio, however much of the course in contraindicated for OUR industry. That’s why in 2003 we invented FITNESS PILATES in our course “Fitness Pilates – Mat” which received FULL ACCREDITATION from Fitness Australia, Kinect Australia and REPs New Zealand.
Our courses are not Traditional pilates training and repertoire ‘rebadged’ as fitness. They are Traditional pilates re-designed from the ground up to be safe for the Fitness environment and to meet ALL the contraindications for OUR fantastic industry.
The Positive Action Pilates Certification Courses have been designed SPECIFICALLY FOR THE FITNESS INDUSTRY in consultation with leading Osteopaths and Physiotherapists.

Why are some Pilates courses ‘Accredited’ and others ‘Recognised’ by Fitness Australia?
The difference between Accreditation and Recognition is that a ‘Recognised’ course is just that; Fitness Australia has recognised it as an ongoing education course. An ‘Accredited’ course meets the highest standards of the fitness industry and is deemed safe for the purposes of gaining insurance coverage.
The Pilates Principles for Fitness Professionals course has ‘Accreditation’.
So does that mean that I can get insurance by doing your course?
Yes. On completion of the Pilates Principles for Fitness Professionals course you can add to your current insurance as a Pilates instructor for the fitness industry.
Will I confidently be able to teach a Pilates mat class after completing the course?
After learning anything that is new it can take time to process the information and practice its application. Depending on your previous teaching experience, the time required to teach confidently will differ for each person.
On completion of the Pilates Principles for Fitness Professionals course you will most definitely have the tools and information on how to confidently integrate Pilates based training into a class or PT session. We will also give you action plans and recommended pathways to gain confidence to prepare you for implementing these concepts in the Health Club environment.
